Short answer: Deliverables should match the purchased scope. Common outputs include an edited manuscript, tracked changes, comments or queries, language and consistency corrections, and—if agreed—journal formatting or reference-related work.

Ask whether you will receive both a tracked version and a clean version, and whether post-edit questions are included. For journal formatting, confirm exactly which elements are covered.

If the provider offers scientific or structural editing, ask how substantive suggestions are distinguished from language corrections so the author can review them carefully.

Do not assume journal submission, plagiarism checking, reference verification, or reviewer-response editing is included unless the quote says so.
